In August, Aneeshmon Thankappan joined the Closelink sales team as our Regional Business Development Manager based in Asia. Aneesh has worked in sales, strategic business development, marketing, and project management in the maritime, oil, and gas industry for 20 years. He is a firm believer of digitalisation driving productivity, efficiency, transparency and sustainability. He is residing in Singapore with his family.
We asked Aneesh a few questions about his role at Closelink:
What drew you to the shipping industry?
My passion is to make a positive difference in whatever I do. Born and brought up in Kerala, India, a place famous for backwaters and beaches, it’s a kind of natural choice for me to be part of the maritime industry. Furthermore, energy is the engine of the global economy and impacts our daily life. So, I thought as a person, I could make a small contribution to the maritime, oil, gas, and energy industry which impacts our life significantly.
Can you please summarize your role at Closelink?
My role is the regional business development of Closelink focusing on Asia. The main goal is greater expansion of the business horizon in Asia through organic growth and strategic partnerships. Concurrently, I’m keen to contribute to potential growth in Australasia and the Americas through my networks and connections. That said, all possibilities to add value to business growth are to be explored.
What are some exciting things about working at Closelink?
I truly enjoy the flexibility of work time and focus on adding value and results. I feel that Closelink is a great workplace in which ideas and views are valued and appreciated. Most importantly, here we treat and trust each other like family. And you know, family is there for one another and family never lets you down. I cannot thank the management of Closelink enough for their trust in me, and their care and whole hearted support rendered, which makes me more than happy to be part of the Closelink family forever.
